Barry Finegold grew up and attended public schools in both Andover and Tewksbury. He graduated from Franklin and Marshall College and has a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Finegold took night classes in order to graduate from the Massachusetts School of Law in Andover and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1998. He is currently a partner at the Andover firm, Dalton & Finegold, LLP. He became an Andover Selectman in 1995 and was then elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives the next year. In his 15 years on the General Court, he has served on the House Ways and Means Committee and the Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies, as the Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on the Judiciary, and currently as the House Chair of the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities, and Energy. Finegold and his wife Amy live in Andover with their two daughters.
