Suzanne Bump grew up on the South Shore in Whitman, MA and from there, worked her way through both Boston College and Suffolk University Law School. She served four terms as Braintree’s elected state representative and then went on to work in the private sector. In addition to working with various trade and finance businesses, she served on boards of directors, such as that of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, helped her son start a law practice, helped to found a non-profit that runs an alcohol and drug recovery home for women in Brockton, and served on the U.S. Selective Service System’s local board. In 2007, Bump was chosen to run the state’s Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development. She currently lives in the Berkshires with her husband Paul.
